Services Offered at Back in Balance Chiropractic Center

Specific Chiropractic Adjustments

Back in Balance Chiropractic Center, located in Cartersville, GA 30120, is a modern facility where we offer specific scientific chiropractic adjustments.  Our goal with this care is to reduce and remove interference from your nervous system, known as subluxations.

Your body has an “innate” ability to be healthy, so long as the controlling mechanism, the nervous system, is free from interference.  Subluxations are a major cause of interference to the function of your nervous system.  With time and repetition, our goal is to correct subluxations and allow your body to return to good health naturally, and without drugs.

Chiropractors are independent health care professionals who treat many conditions as they relate to the spine, emphasizing the dependency of health on the correct functioning of the central nerve system.

Chiropractors adjust or manipulate misaligned vertebrae (the bones of your spinal column) to restore correct functioning of your central nerve system. They may also work with other parts of your body affected by the misaligned vertebrae. Chiropractors may do this by using their hands and various mechanical and electrical instruments.

Techniques

There are many types of High Velocity-Low Amplitude (HVLA) manipulation approaches.

Diversified Technique: This technique is the form of high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is traditionally associated with chiropractic manual adjustments. For this method, chiropractors apply a short (low-amplitude), quick (high-velocity) thrust over restricted joints (one at a time)‚Äč with the goal of restoring normal range of motion in the joint. The patient’s body is positioned in specific ways to optimize the adjustment of the spine

Thompson Terminal Point (or Drop) Technique: This technique involves specialized treatment tables that have sections that drop a short distance during an HVLA thrust. The dropping of the table piece facilitates the movement of the joint. This adjustment approach is sometimes used in addition to or, in place of, a more traditional diversified HVLA adjustment. Here, the traditional "cracking sound" may or may not occur and therefore this type of manipulation may also be considered a form of mobilization, or a gentle adjustment approach.

Toggle Recoil: A chiropractic technique popular with patients who prefer or need a more gentle approach. The practitioner places their hands lightly on the area of joint restriction and then performs an extremely fast, though very light thrust, quickly removing their hands from the contact point.

Flexion DistractionFlexion Distraction is a chiropractic technique used to treat many conditions of the lumbar spine. It is a non-surgical technique aimed at increasing spinal motion and resolving disc bulges and disc herniations.

Auriculotherapy, also known as Cranial Nerve Augmentation, is often confused with ear acupuncture but it uses no needles, no acupuncture points & no meridians.  A micro-current stimulator is placed on neurological points that correspond to the various cranial nerves & cervical ganglia on the ear. These nerves then send a message to the brain based on the location of the area being diagnosed or treated. Therefore, Cranial Nerve Augmentation is considered mainstream clinical neurology.

Imagine your brain as a computer. Inside this computer is a "map" of the entire body. This map is neurologically projected onto the ear through the body’s nervous system. Accessing the points on the map is like using a computer’s keyboard or mouse to gain entrance into the system. With this system we are able to directly diagnose & treat a number of problems & conditions through the "brain's computer".
